Samsung Grants Scholarships to 517 IIT and NIT Students ,Under Samsung Star Scholar Program. Samsung India on Monday announced that it’s provided scholarships to 517 students at the IIT and NIT , as a part of its ‘Samsung Star Scholar programme’. These scholarships are offered per annum to financially support less privileged students from Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) schools who qualify to those prestigious engineering colleges, the corporate said during a statement.

The programme offers a scholarship of up to Rs 2 lakh for expenses associated with tuition, examination, hostel and mess for one school year and it are often renewed per annum up to five years. Started in 2016, Samsung Star Scholar programme, now in its fifth year, has thus far benefitted 650 JNV students.

Samsung Star Scholar programme is an extension of this effort and that we are very happy that this year despite the challenges on the bottom , we’ve been ready to reach bent these gifted students,” said Peter Rhee, Corporate vice chairman and Deputy director , Samsung India. This year, the programme has granted 150 scholarships to new applicants from JNVs, of which 85 will begin their journey across 14 different IITs and 65 at 15 different NITs across the country. According to the corporate, scholarships for 367 students presently following full-term B.Tech/Dual Degree are revived for succeeding year. Recipients of revived scholarships embrace one hundred seventy five second year students, ninety four third year students and ninety seven fourth year students.

Also, Samsung Republic of India and Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti partnership began in 2013 with the ‘Samsung good Class’ programme that was geared toward providing quality education for kids from rural backgrounds.

At present, the ‘Smart Class’ programme is operational at 683 Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya faculties. So far, over 430,000 students have benefitted from it and over eight,000 lecturers are trained on a way to use interactive technology to show. Every ‘Samsung good Class’ is provided with associate interactive Samsung Smartboards, Samsung tablets, a printer, Wi-Fi property and power backup, the corporate same.
