School Reopening Update: BMC schools will not open in Mumbai this year. As soon as Diwali ends, new cases of corona have been reported in some states of the country. Due to this, the states have to change their strategy. The Gujarat government had said to open schools and colleges from November 23, but now this decision has been changed. After this, the Mumbai Metropolitan Municipality (BMC) in Mumbai also announced that its affiliated schools would not open till 31 December.

Mumbai mayor Kishori Pednekar said, “Earlier the schools were said to be open from November 23, but after the continuous cases of Corona, it has now been decided that BMC schools will not open this year.” Meanwhile, like Delhi, Ahmedabad is also among the cities in the country where a new wave of Corona infection is seen. Due to this, the government has announced a night curfew in Ahmedabad. That is, everything will be closed from 9 am to 6 am except medical stores and milk shops.

School Reopening Update

The government has appealed to the people to leave their homes only when it is very necessary. Many people do not gather at one place. Apply mask and follow physical distance. Chief Minister Vijay Rupani took this decision in a high level meeting. He informed that the night curfew in Ahmedabad will continue till further orders. During this time special arrangements are being made in hospitals. Bed reserves are being kept for Corona patients. The Ahmedabad market saw huge crowds before the night curfew.

The government believes that opening a school college right now can be dangerous for children. The new date has not been decided yet. Earlier on 11 November, Gujarat Education Minister Bhupendra Singh Chudasama announced that classes from 9th to 12th will be held from 23 November.

Earlier, Haryana also took the initiative to open schools from 9th to 12th, but children and teachers of Corona have been infected in other places including Jind. After this, the strategy of opening the school is being considered once again.

To prevent the spread of Corona virus infection in Ahmedabad city of Gujarat, it has been decided to impose a 57-hour weekend curfew under the corporation limits from Friday. Meanwhile, a release said that in view of the prevailing situation, the Gujarat government has stopped its decision to open secondary schools and colleges in the state from 23 November.

Officials said that the curfew will start in Ahmedabad city from 9 pm on Friday (November 20), which will continue till six in the morning on Monday (23).
