5,726 new employees recruited in the second quarter of 2025

TCS has recruited 5,726 new employees in the second quarter of FY 2025. The move comes after the recruitment of 5,452 employees in the previous quarter, making it clear that the company has attempted to change the previous trend of reduction in the number of employees. As of September 2023, the total number of employees in TCS has increased to 612,724, an increase over the previous quarter. In the first half of the year, TCS has added more than 11,000 new employees.

Lakkad said that the company has also started the campus hiring process for the financial year 2026. He also said that TCS’s strong talent and high level of learning is helping them succeed in technological transformation.

However, there are some challenges for TCS. In the financial year 2024, for the first time in 19 years, the company saw a reduction in the number of employees, reducing the number of employees by 13,249. The attrition rate of employees increased slightly to 12.3% in the second quarter, while it was 12.1% in the previous quarter. Still, it is lower than the rate of the second quarter of last year, which was 14.9%.

TCS earned a net profit of Rs 11,909 crore in the second quarter, an increase of 5%. However, this figure was slightly lower than analysts’ expectations.
