The decision was taken in a high-level meeting held on Thursday under the chairmanship of Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’. “A beneficial decision has been taken to impart technical education, especially engineering in mother tongue, and it will be available from the next academic session,” said a senior ministry official. For this, some IITs and NITs are being chosen.

He informed that the NTA will take stock of the contemporary situation related to the Board of School Education and then bring the syllabus for competitive examinations. The official said that the University Grants Commission has been instructed to give all scholarships, fellowships on time and the commission has been asked to start the helpline and solve all the problems of the students immediately.
The NTA had announced the JEE main examination in nine regional languages in addition to Hindi and English only last month. However, the IITs have not yet decided whether the JEE Advanced exam will also be conducted in regional languages.
Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal is advocating the promotion of education in regional languages with the implementation of the new education policy. He also spoke openly in public meetings and seminars. The new Education Policy 2020 supports education in the mother tongue from the initial class onwards.
