Techies Resigned From TCS, Infosys, Wipro, HCL, Tech Mahindra: In Indian IT Companies, COVID-19 brought the economic crisis that has been a big issue in the job market. Due to imposed lockdown and its keep on extension, IT Companies, and many more organizations have started remote work(WFH). Unfortunately, the IT sector, which mostly depends on international clients, including the US, which is the biggest market.
Since March, most of the IT companies let go of thousands of its employees because of business and revenue. According to the latest report, the top software companies have reported a reduction in the total strength of employees.
Staff Reduction of IT Sector
Between April-June the headcount at Tata Consultancy Services, reduced by 4786, Infosys by 3138, Wipro’s by 1082, and Tech Mahindra’s headcount by 1820 and HCL by 136.
In total, all the companies observed a reduction of 10,962 employees. Cognizant let go of almost 9,000 people. Wipro saw its headcount drop by 1082.
It was reported that COVID-19 led to 30,000 jobs being lost in IT and BPO sectors, with 60,000 being sent on leave without pay.
